OK, this may not technically qualify as news, but 24/7 Wall Street came out with a list of the 20 drunkest cities in America in May of 2016, based on self reported drinking rates among adults in 381 metro areas across the country.

And Wisconsin…well, let’s just say they’re well represented on the list…

20. Corvallis, Oregon
19. Iowa City, Iowa
18. Lincoln, Nebraska
17. Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis, Wisconsin
16. Janesville-Beloit, Wisconsin
15. Racine, Wisconsin
14. Grand Forks, North Dakota
13. Missoula, Montana
12. Sheboygen, Wisconsin
11. Wausau, Wisconsin
10. Mankato-North Mankato, Minnesota
9. Eau Claire, Wisconsin
8. Ames, Iowa
7. Fon du Lac, Wisconsin
6. LaCrosse-Onalaska, Wisconsin
5. Fargo, North Dakota
4. Madison, Wisconsin
3. Green Bay, Wisconsin
2. Oshkosh-Neenah, Wisconsin
1. Appleton, Wisconsin

I would guess that the reaction to this list (in the afternoon after it came out, after the haze of the hangover cleared/buzz from the new day of drinking started) ranged from “Woo-hoo, 11 of the top 20, over half the list” to “We can do better guys…3 non-Wisconsin cities in the top 10? Milwaukee, you gotta step it up”

I can almost guarantee that Green Bay (and Madison) areĀ feeling shame at their placement in the list…but hey, there’s always next year.
