A 41-year old Wisconsin man was arrested in Waupaca County (approximately 95 miles from the Dells) after preliminary tests found his blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.427, more than 21x his legal limit to drive (which was 0.02, rather than the standard 0.08), since he had a prior Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI) offense.
No date has been provided in the stories we’ve found on this, but he was arrested on the following charges:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (2nd offense)
- Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device
- Operating After Revocation
The man was pulled over after reports of a driver swerving in the roadway on US Highway 10, significantly varying speeds, and almost hitting a guardrail. Due to his high level of intoxication, the driver was taken to the hospital for medical care.
Of course, on the Facebook posts I’ve seen regarding the story, most comments (from Wisconsin residents) could be largely summed up as “Oh, a regular Monday.”
