The headline was enough to make me think of Wisconsin–but when I read the reasons for the assault, I was convinced that somehow the author of the article got the location wrong.

A 44-year old woman was arrested over the holidays (yes, we’re still writing stories from several weeks back) after assaulting a man with a ceramic squirrel.

Helen Williams lives in North Charleston, South Carolina–not rural Wisconsin–and she was extremely upset when her common law husband returned home without beer, as stores were closed on Christmas Eve.

Williams grabbed a ceramic squirrel, beat the man upside the head, and proceeded to stab him with the squirrel in the shoulder and chest. She was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence, despite arguing that the man had fallen and cut himself. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
